About this copy

This is the fourteenth impression of the first Famous Five title, originally published in September 1942. The copyright page notes the text was reset, with this impression dated 1956/1958. This is a later printing, not a first edition.

Hardback in red cloth boards with pictorial endpapers; no dust jacket is present. A name reading "Enid Blyton" appears in ink on the front cover; we cannot authenticate this as a genuine autograph from photographs alone, and it should be regarded as unverified.

Condition

Book
Good – red cloth boards with light shelf wear, a small nick to the cloth at the head of the spine, and a minor mark to the rear board edge. Internally clean with all illustrations by Eileen Soper present. No dust jacket.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
