About this copy
This is the Second Impression, dated 1960, of the seventeenth Famous Five title, which was first published in July 1958. The copyright page clearly states the publishing history: First Published July 1958, Second Impression 1960. This is not a first edition.
The book is bound in the publisher's cloth boards and retains its original pictorial dust jacket, printed 7s 6d net on the rear flap, listing the other Famous Five titles available at the time. The jacket back panel carries the publisher's standard printed facsimile note attributed to Enid Blyton introducing the seventeenth adventure - this is a printed feature common to jackets of this series and era, not a handwritten inscription or genuine signature.
Condition
- Book
- Good – boards and spine sound, text block clean and legible, corners lightly bumped.
- Dust jacket
- Fair – notable wear including a torn and taped spine crown, edge and corner wear throughout, and a small torn area/hole near the printed price text on the rear flap. Present and apparently original to the book, but with condition issues as described.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
