About this copy
This is the eleventh impression of the fifth Famous Five title, first published in November 1946. The copyright page confirms this specific printing date of 1959. The book is bound in red cloth boards and is housed in its original pictorial dust jacket, which carries the publisher's price of 7s 6d net on the front flap.
The rear jacket panel features the series' standard printed letter from Enid Blyton to readers, reproduced as part of the jacket artwork rather than a genuine signature.
Condition
- Book
- Fair – boards are sound; the jacket has been retained but shows considerable wear as described below.
- Dust jacket
- Poor – extensive tearing and loss along the spine panel, with sections of the printed spine title missing. Heavy chipping to the top and bottom edges of the front panel, with closed tears at the corners. Price-intact front flap. Jacket is complete but fragile and worn.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
