This is a volume in the well-known Britain in Pictures series, produced by Adprint Limited for Collins. The title page is dated MCMXXXXIV (1944); no separate printing history is shown on the pages photographed, so the specific printing represented by this copy cannot be confirmed with certainty. The text is illustrated throughout with 4 colour plates, 4 sepia plates, and 30 black & white illustrations, including a 1943 watercolour of Boy Scout uniform and badges by Kenneth Brookes.
The book retains its original green cloth boards and its pictorial dust jacket, which carries the standard Britain in Pictures series blurb and list of other titles on the rear panel and flaps.
