About this copy

This is the Third Impression, dated 1943 on the copyright page, following the First Edition (1942) and Second Impression (1943). It is a later printing of the same edition rather than a first printing. Hardcover in publisher's cloth boards with gilt-lettered spine label.

No dust jacket is present.

Condition

Book
Good – the cloth boards show general wear at the spine ends and corners consistent with age and handling. There is a small ink doodle (a hat shape) and a faint mark on the front board. The endpapers and title page show scattered foxing/age spotting, and there is some old tape reinforcement visible at the front hinge/endpaper. The text block otherwise appears sound.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
