About this copy

This is the 1993 Mainstream edition, published under this title. The copyright page records the full publishing history: the work first appeared as 'Motive for a Mission' (Macmillan, 1971), with a second edition under the same title issued by Mainstream in 1979 and by Corgi in 1981. This 1993 Mainstream printing, retitled 'The Truth About Rudolf Hess', draws on recently released British War Cabinet papers and the author's access to the Hamilton archives and Haushofer letters.

Hardback with original pictorial dust jacket, priced £14.99 on the front flap (price not clipped). Illustrated throughout with black-and-white photographs relating to Hess's 1941 flight to Britain.

Condition

Book
Very Good – text block and binding clean and tight, no inscriptions.
Dust jacket
Good – noticeable surface scuffing and light scratching to the front and back panels, with a small stain at the top of the front flap.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
