About this copy

The Pageant of English Poetry, being 1150 poems and extracts by 300 authors, published by Henry Frowde, Oxford University Press, 1912. An anthology that brings together three centuries of English verse in one substantial volume, from Shakespeare and Milton through Keats, Shelley and Tennyson. Its engraved portrait plates of the great poets, after Emery Walker, make it as handsome to browse as it is rewarding to read.

A sturdy hardback in its original half-leather and cloth binding, with its plates and text intact. A handsome volume for any poetry shelf.

Condition

Book
Good - firm binding with sound boards and a complete text block. The red cloth sides show rubbing and the leather spine is worn, with some lifting at the head and tail and a few bumped corners. Age toning and light staining to the endpapers.

A pre-owned book; any wear beyond that described is minor and in keeping with its age.
