About this copy
BIGGLES AND THE BLACK PERIL By Capt. W. E. Johns. Published by Dean & Son Ltd., London.
This is a Dean & Son hardcover edition of the title, printed by Purnell and Sons, Ltd. of Paulton, Somerset and London, and issued by arrangement with The Thames Publishing Co. No printing statement or copyright page with full publication history was available to photograph, so the specific printing of this copy cannot be confirmed with certainty. The book retains its original pictorial dust jacket, illustrated with a dramatic scene of Biggles fleeing a burning building. The front free endpaper carries a handwritten birthday inscription dated 1964 from a previous owner; this is not an author signature.
Condition
- Book
- Good – text block clean and complete, with some age-related toning to the pages. Binding sound.
- Dust jacket
- Fair – notable wear with chipping and small losses at the spine ends and corners, edge tears, and general toning to the surface.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
