About this copy
This is the UK hardcover trade edition (ISBN 0-571-20113-X), first published in 1999. The copyright page carries a printer's number line ending at '6' rather than showing a '1', indicating this copy is a later printing within the first-edition run rather than a first printing. A separate limited edition (ISBN 0-571-20342-6) was issued alongside the trade edition; this is not that limited edition.
The book is presented in its original publisher's dust jacket, featuring cover art by Barrie Cooke ('Then Rain', 1986) and design by Pentagram. The jacket notes this translation as winner of the 1999 Whitbread Poetry Award.
Condition
- Book
- Good – sound and complete, with no inscriptions or markings noted internally.
- Dust jacket
- Fair – the jacket shows notable surface dirt, scuffing, and staining across both the front and rear panels, along with a small edge crease near the top of the spine. Price of £14.99 is printed and unclipped on the rear panel.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
