About this copy
This is the 1951 Reprint Society edition, reproducing the original coloured illustrations by John Leech that first appeared with the book in 1843. The copyright page clearly states the original 1843 first edition publication by Chapman and Hall, its revision for the 'Charles Dickens Edition' 1858-1870, and that this specific copy is the 1951 Reprint Society edition - it is not a first edition. Bound in tan cloth boards with a red cloth spine, lettered in gilt to the spine and front panel.
No dust jacket is present.
Condition
- Book
- Very Good - clean, bright text and illustrations with light shelf wear to the spine and board edges consistent with age. A small mark is visible on the title page. Sound and tight binding throughout.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
