About this copy
Westhampnett: The Parish Church of St. Peter Some Notes, Historical and Architectural, on the Church By the Rev. A. A. Evans. Publisher and date not stated in the surviving pages photographed; originally priced at threepence.
This is a small local parish history pamphlet covering the Church of St. Peter at Westhampnett, West Sussex, written during the incumbency of the Rev. Canon Salwey, M.A., who is named as Vicar on the front cover. The pamphlet includes a printed architectural floor plan of the church, keyed to show building phases from pre-Conquest and Norman work through to the 13th and 15th centuries and modern additions such as the 1867 north aisle.
No publisher's imprint, date, or printing statement is visible on the pages photographed, so the exact printing and date cannot be confirmed from the images supplied.
Condition
- Book
- Fair – a well-used pamphlet in paper wrappers. The front cover shows noticeable foxing/spotting, fold creases, and edge wear including tears and a small area of loss/chip to the lower left corner. The text block is sound and the pamphlet remains intact. This is a pre-owned item, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
