About this copy

Die Geschichte von Simonswald, the local history of the Black Forest village of Simonswald, compiled and edited by Gerhard A. Auer on behalf of the municipality and published by Gemeinde Simonswald, 2003. A richly illustrated hardback in German, its cover showing a hand-coloured 1927 photograph of a timber-felling crew from the Martinskapelle area, colourised by Gerhard A. Auer. A fascinating window onto the forestry life of this Black Forest community.

This copy carries a handwritten dedication from Bürgermeister Reinhold Scheer, dated Simonswald 21 June 2004, presented to Councillor James Doyle, Bürgermeister of Worthing, and his wife Melanie Doyle, marking the twinning link between the two towns.

Condition

Good – a firm, tight binding with clean interior pages. Light scuffing and soiling to the spine and board edges, and a small brown spot on the dedication page near the gutter.

A pre-owned book; any wear beyond that described is minor and in keeping with its age.
