This is the Fourth Edition of Maitland's well-known physiotherapy textbook, with a contributed chapter by D.A. Brewerton on the doctor's role in diagnosis and prescribing. The copyright page records a publishing history of First published 1964, Second Edition 1968, Third Edition 1973, Fourth Edition 1977, with further reprints in 1978 and 1979 also listed on the same page, so the exact printing of this copy cannot be pinpointed beyond the Fourth Edition text. The book has no separate dust jacket; the pictorial cover design is printed directly onto the hardback boards, as issued.

- Good – Shows scattered surface scuffing and fine scratches to the laminated boards, with light wear to the spine ends and corners. The front free endpaper has noticeable brown staining. A retailer price sticker ($25.00, the Co-op Bookshop) is affixed to the rear board. Internally sound and complete.
