About this copy
This is the Forty-second Edition (F'cap 8vo format) as stated on the title page. The publishing history page confirms this book was first published in 1908 and had reached its forty-second edition by 1933 through numerous reprintings. This is a 1933 reprint, not a first edition.
Bound in the publisher's blue cloth with gilt lettering to the spine and a facsimile of the author's signature in gilt to the front board. No dust jacket is present. The front free endpaper carries a period owner's inscription, 'H.J.G. Schumach', dated January 1934.
Condition
- Book
- Good – blue cloth boards with wear and some rubbing to the spine ends, the spine cloth slightly faded compared to the boards. Gilt lettering to the front cover remains legible and bright. A faint mark is visible on the front free endpaper near the ink inscription. Internally sound.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
