About this copy

This is the first edition of Bowman's account of 2 Group RAF and 2nd Tactical Air Force medium bomber operations from the outbreak of war to VE Day, drawing on first-hand accounts, diaries and squadron archive photographs. It is the third volume in Bowman's trilogy for PSL, following 'The Men Who Flew the Mosquito' and 'Confounding the Reich'. Hardcover in original dust jacket.

The jacket features Terence Fox's painting of Operation Carthage, the 1945 Mosquito raid on the Shellhaus Gestapo headquarters in Copenhagen, and retains its printed price of £19.99 (not price-clipped).
