About this copy
This is the second edition, revised and extended, of the author's earlier book Albion: An Artist's Britain (first published 1939). The copyright page states 'First edition Albion: An Artist's Britain, 1939' and 'Second edition, revised and extended 1949'. This copy is therefore a 1949 second edition under the new title, not a first edition of this title.
It contains twenty-four colour plates from the author's own paintings. The original dust jacket is present but is badly damaged, with tears and loss at the top edge and front panel. The jacket price of 21s. net is printed on the flap.
Condition
- Book
- Good – Sound, clean text block with light toning to page edges and endpapers. No inscriptions or ownership marks visible.
- Dust jacket
- Poor – Significant tears and loss to the top edge and front panel, including part of the colour plate, chipping to the spine ends, and heavy toning, staining and soiling to the rear panel.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
