About this copy

This is Volume I of Churchill's six-volume war memoirs. The copyright page states the work was first published in 1948, with this edition issued by The Reprint Society Ltd in 1950 by arrangement with Cassell & Co. This is a book club reprint of the 1948 Cassell first edition, not a first edition itself. The book is bound in plain cream cloth boards with a maroon spine label, typical of Reprint Society issues of the period.

No dust jacket is present.

Condition

Book
Good – cloth boards show general soiling and light staining, most noticeable on the front board. Spine label shows wear at the head and tail. A name resembling "Winston S. Churchill" along with the numeral "7" has been inked onto the front board in period ink; this has not been authenticated and is offered as seen, without claim of genuineness. Page edges are lightly age-toned throughout, consistent with a book of this age.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
