No printing history or date is present on the title or copyright pages of this copy, so the specific printing cannot be confirmed from the text alone. The book is bound in the original pictorial green cloth, with a colour illustration mounted to the front board depicting an adventure scene.

- Fair – the decorative paper onlay to the front board is chipped and lifting at the edges, with the cloth boards generally soiled and marked, most noticeably to the rear board. Spine ends and corners are worn and bumped. The endpapers and early leaves show foxing/spotting, and there is a strip of old tape residue on the front pastedown. The text block and illustrations are intact and complete as far as photographed.
