About this copy

THE ADVANCE PARTY REPORT Popular Edition. Being the Recommendations of the Chief Scout's Advance Party, 1966, with appendices, notes and an index. By The Boy Scouts Association.

Published by The Boy Scouts Association, London, 1966. This is the Popular Edition of the influential 1966 Advance Party Report, the document that led to sweeping reforms within British Scouting, including the renaming of the movement's junior sections, revised uniforms, and restructured age ranges. The Popular Edition was produced for wider membership circulation following the original report.

This is a softcover publication with illustrated pictorial paper covers depicting the newly introduced 1966 Scout and Scouter uniforms front and back. An owner's initials, 'W.S.M.', are inked on the front endpaper.

Condition

Book
Fair – Illustrated paper covers show significant cracking, creasing, and wear, with noticeable staining to the lower front cover and spine edge, and bumped/softened corners. Text block appears complete and sound internally, though contents were not fully examined page by page. This copy shows considerable handling wear consistent with a well-used working document of its time.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
