This is the Boys' Edition of Baden-Powell's classic scouting handbook. The publication history printed in the preliminaries shows the Boys' Edition was first published in 1932, with subsequent revised editions and numerous reprints; this copy corresponds to the 1956 reprint, the latest printing listed on that page. It is not a first edition.
Hardcover in pictorial boards; no dust jacket is present. The book carries a handwritten presentation inscription on the preliminary leaf, apparently given to a 'Richard' from the '8th Worthing Troop', signed with a name and the nickname 'Skipper' (scoutmaster), though the signer's identity cannot be independently verified.

- Good – Pictorial boards show notable wear, soiling, and a small fray/tear to the top front edge, with wear to the spine ends and corners. Pages are age-toned throughout but the text block is complete and sound.
