About this copy

This is the 1976 "new edition" of the book, as stated on the copyright page; the work was first published in Great Britain in 1971. Part of the long-running Portrait series of regional topography books issued by Robert Hale. Hardcover in original pictorial dust jacket, the jacket photograph (Bristol City Docks and St Mary Redcliffe Church) credited to W. E. Hall on the rear flap.

Condition

Book
Good – boards and text block sound, with some age-related wear consistent with a pre-owned hardcover; a few pencil notations are present on the front endpaper area.
Dust jacket
Good – present and appears to be the original jacket, but showing wear including a small chip/tear at the top of the spine, a crease to the front flap, and some toning/spotting to the rear panel.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
