About this copy
This is the 1973 Pan/Ballantine paperback edition of Alfred Price's history of the Luftwaffe, part of the Pan/Ballantine Illustrated History of World War II 'Weapons Book' series. The work was originally copyrighted in 1969, first published in the United States in 1969, and first published in Great Britain in 1970 by Macdonald & Co; this softcover printing is the Pan/Ballantine edition first issued in 1973. Mass-market paperback with photographic cover, illustrated throughout with wartime photographs, plus special drawings by John Batchelor.
Condition
- Book
- Good – a well-handled reading copy. Cover shows rubbing and wear to edges and corners, with some light soiling. Spine is intact with no splitting. No dust jacket (issued without one, as a paperback).
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
Collector's notes
- Introduction written by Generalleutnant Adolf Galland, the wartime Luftwaffe fighter ace and general
- Published by Pan/Ballantine, 1973
- This is a paperback reprint edition, not the true first edition (which was Macdonald & Co, 1970, UK; Ballantine, 1969, US)
- Special drawings by aviation illustrator John Batchelor
This is a pre-owned book. Please look at every photograph: they show its true condition.
