This is the first paperback edition of India Modern, originally published in hardback by Phaidon in 1994. The copyright page clearly records 'First published 1994' and 'First paperback edition 1997', with this copy carrying the paperback ISBN 0-7148-3646-X. A photography-led survey of contemporary Indian architecture, design and craft, including the work of architects Charles Correa and Satish Gujral and textile designers Asha Sarabhai and Shyam Ahuja. Issued as a pictorial softcover with full-colour photographic collage covers front and back; there is no dust jacket as none was issued with this format.
