This is the original auction sale catalogue (Sale Number 3197) issued for the public sale of Signor Paolino Gerli's collection of Japanese ukiyo-e color prints, held Wednesday, April 28 at 10.15 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. The catalogue contains detailed scholarly lot descriptions for works by major print artists including Okumura Masanobu, Suzuki Harunobu, Toshusai Sharaku, Kitagawa Utamaro, Katsushika Hokusai, and Ichiryusai Hiroshige, among others, with black-and-white plates illustrating selected lots. The front cover reproduces the color print offered as Lot 80.
Issued in the publisher's illustrated stiff paper wrappers; no dust jacket was issued for this catalogue format.

- Good – a well-used working copy of the catalogue. The wrappers show edge and corner wear with small splits/tears at the spine ends, a faint stain to the lower front cover, and contemporary ink notations to the front and rear covers (a partial name and figures). The text block is clean, but numerous lots throughout the catalogue have contemporary ink price/bid annotations added in the margins, evidently recorded by a sale attendee. Sound and complete, but with the wear described.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
