About this copy

ENGLISH MECHANIC AND WORLD OF SCIENCE Volume XCIII (93). Published for the Strand Newspaper Co., Limited by E. J. Kibblewhite, Managing Director, London, 1911. This is a contemporary bound volume of the weekly periodical English Mechanic and World of Science, gathering the numbers issued through 1911 (internal pages show, for example, No. 2399 dated March 17, 1911, and a supplement dated August 18, 1911).

The magazine incorporated "The Mechanic," "Scientific Opinion," and "The British & Foreign Mechanic," and is illustrated throughout with practical engravings and diagrams. Printed by Bradley & Co., 12, 13 and 14 Fetter Lane, London. Bound in the publisher's plain blue-grey cloth boards with a gilt-titled blue spine label reading "English Mechanic 1911 Vol. 93."

No dust jacket, as issued.

Condition

Book
Good – sound, complete bound volume with age-toned pulp-paper text block typical of the period. The front board has a scuff mark with some loss of colour to the cloth, and the rear board shows a patch of wear/rubbing near the base plus a faint stain. The front inner hinge shows some cracking/fraying, though the text block remains attached. Boards and spine show general edge wear consistent with age and handling.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
