This is the Third Printing (1960) of this title, first published in 1954 as part of the Herbert Jenkins 'How to Catch Them' angling series, under the general editorship of Kenneth Mansfield. The copyright page clearly states the publishing history: First published 1954, Second Printing 1956, Third Printing 1960 - this copy represents the latter. The book is presented in its original publisher's cloth binding with the original dust jacket, priced 3/6 net on the inner flap.
The jacket illustrates three chub against a blue and purple background.

- Good – binding and text block appear sound; light toning to endpapers and title page consistent with age.
- Dust jacket
- Fair – heavily worn with multiple tears to the front panel, particularly radiating from the upper left corner, along with chipping and loss at the spine ends and corners. All text and artwork remain fully legible and the price is unclipped, but the jacket shows considerable handling wear.
