About this copy

This is the softcover edition of the official illustrated catalogue of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon, covering the Founder's collection across Egyptian, Greco-Roman, Mesopotamian, Islamic, Far Eastern, European painting, sculpture, furniture, and decorative arts, including the celebrated works by Lalique. The book is illustrated throughout with colour photographs of objects in the Museum's collection, with texts by the Museum's curatorial staff. The front cover reproduces Domenico Ghirlandaio's Portrait of a Young Woman, c. 1490, one of the Museum's best-known paintings.

This softcover printing carries ISBN 978-972-8848-77-4 (3,500 copies issued); a separate hardcover edition (ISBN 978-972-8848-78-1, 500 copies) was published concurrently. The rear cover still carries the original Gulbenkian Foundation shop price sticker.
