This is the 1946 reprint of the illustrated A. & C. Black edition first published in 1931 (the copyright page states: 'This Edition Published 1931. Reprinted 1933, 1936, 1940, 1942, and 1946'). It is not a first edition of the novel.
The book includes a colour frontispiece plate titled 'Lady Anne and Her Pet.' Green cloth boards with the title and a line drawing of a horse blocked in dark blue to the front board. No dust jacket is present.
The front free endpaper carries a contemporary ink gift inscription dated May 26th 1947, and a small retailer's label from Riley & Sons, Stationers, of Keighley is present on the front pastedown.
Condition
- Book
- Good – cloth boards show wear with some bumping to the spine head and tail; text block is clean and tightly bound; scattered light foxing to the endpapers and inside boards; owner inscription present to the front free endpaper as noted above.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
