About this copy

This is a mid-20th century reprint of Montgomery's classic novel. The copyright page states the book was first published in June 1925, reset and reprinted in January 1943, and reprinted numerous further times, with this copy representing the February 1950 printing. It is not a first edition.

The book is bound in orange and green cloth boards and retains its original-style pictorial dust jacket featuring the well-known Philip Connard portrait of Anne on the front panel, protected by a clear plastic cover. The front free endpaper carries a period gift inscription dated 26th May 1950, wishing the recipient a happy 14th birthday.

Condition

Book
Good – boards show shelfwear to corners and spine ends; text block internally clean and tight; inscription present on the front free endpaper.
Dust jacket
Fair – significant wear including a corner loss/tear to the upper right of the front panel, a tear at the lower front panel where the orange and green sections meet, and chipping along the spine ends and top edge. Housed in a protective plastic cover.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
