About this copy

A New Popular Star Atlas (Epoch 1950), with 16 Maps covering the whole Heavens. By R. M. G. Inglis. Published by Gall and Inglis, Edinburgh and London.

For anyone who loves the night sky, this is a classic British star atlas. R. M. G. Inglis, of the well-known Gall and Inglis astronomical publishing house, sets out sixteen clear maps that cover the whole heavens, showing stars down to magnitude 5.5 and nebulae visible in field glasses. Each map is accompanied by descriptive lists of selected interesting objects, making it a wonderful companion for observers at every level.

This copy is the sixth impression, issued in 1967 of the book first published in 1949. It is a sturdy hardback in blue cloth with the printed title label to the front. The star maps, printed in white on deep blue, remain bright and clear throughout.

Condition

Book
Good. The binding is firm and the boards are sound. The cloth shows rubbing and wear to the edges and spine ends, the cover label has some soiling and edge wear, and the text pages are toned with light foxing. There are a few pencil and ink marks on some pages. The maps are clean and bright. No dust jacket.

A pre-owned book; any wear beyond that described is minor and in keeping with its age.
