About this copy

This is the 1992 Phillimore edition of Donald Jones's study of Clifton, the Bristol suburb, tracing its history from Roman times through the Merchant Venturers' ownership, the development of the Georgian terraces, to the growth of the modern residential suburb. The copyright page shows the 1992 publication date with no later printing noted. The book has pictorial blue boards with gilt lettering and a reproduction of Brunel's original 1831 design for the Clifton Suspension Bridge (painted by Samuel Jackson) on the front cover.

No separate dust jacket was issued/present; an inserted promotional blurb flap with the original £14.95 price is photographed laid into the book.

Condition

Book
Very Good - boards are bright and clean with gilt lettering intact; some minor shelf wear and a small mark to the lower front board as shown in photos. Text block appears clean and tight.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
