About this copy
This is an undated Regent Classics edition of Verne's novel, using the translation published by courtesy of Sampson Low, Marston and Co. Ltd. No printing statement or date appears on the copyright page, so the specific printing cannot be established from the book itself. Printed by Purnell and Sons Ltd, Paulton, Somerset. The front free endpaper carries an early owner's name, Jacqueline Longhurst, written several times in different inks - an ownership inscription rather than an author signature.
Condition
- Book
- Fair – sound binding and text block, with foxing to the endpapers and a small stain to one endpaper; owner's name inscribed multiple times on the front free endpaper.
- Dust jacket
- Poor – present but heavily worn, with significant chipping, tearing, and loss to the spine and corners; front and rear panels show creasing and wear consistent with age and handling.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
Collector's notes
- Part of The Thames Publishing Co.'s Regent Classics series of classic reprints, as listed on the rear jacket panel
