About this copy
This is the Everyman's Library edition of Plato's Republic in A. D. Lindsay's translation. The copyright page states that Lindsay's translation was first published in Everyman's Library in 1935, with this copy being the volume 'last reprinted 1948' - a later reprint rather than a first edition of this translation. Green cloth boards with the Everyman device blind-embossed on the front cover.
No dust jacket is present. The front endpaper carries a period ink ownership inscription: 'E. J. Frances Climie, University College, Swansea.'
Condition
- Book
- Good - sound green cloth binding with light general shelf wear; a small corner tear/crease is visible at the fore-edge of the title page area (see photos). Text block appears clean and tight. A light mark is visible on the rear board.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
