This is a WWI-era charity gift book issued in aid of Queen Mary's Convalescent Auxiliary Hospitals for soldiers and sailors who had lost their limbs in the war. No dust jacket is present, and the supplied photographs do not show a copyright or edition statement page, so the specific printing of this copy cannot be confirmed. The book has a color frontispiece portrait of Queen Mary, reproduced from a painting by William Llewellyn, A.R.A., in Buckingham Palace, with a printed (facsimile) signature beneath it reading "Mary R" – this is part of the printed page, not a hand signature.
This particular copy carries an early owner's name, "E.F. Leather," written and stamped on the front endpaper, along with another period ownership note visible on the pastedown.

- Fair – Cloth boards are worn and soiled with fraying at the spine ends; the front hinge is weak with some separation visible at the endpaper; foxing and spotting are present throughout the early leaves; the frontispiece guard/tissue shows loss and adhesive residue overlapping the portrait image.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
