About this copy
This is the softcover 'New Concise NAL Edition' of Gallo's survey of the history of the poster, condensed from the larger illustrated work originally published in Italian as I Manifesti (Mondadori, Milan) and previously issued in English by Hamlyn and American Heritage Publishing Co. in 1974. This 1975 concise paperback was printed and bound in Italy by Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, Verona. It includes an accompanying essay, "The Development of Poster Art," by Carlo Arturo Quintavalle, and is illustrated throughout with reproductions of historic posters.
This is a softcover (wrappers) edition; there is no dust jacket, as none was issued with this binding. The original cover price of $7.95 is printed on the rear panel.
Condition
- Book
- Good – a well-used reading/reference copy. The pictorial wrappers show notable edge and corner wear, a small tear/crease at the top of the front cover, and surface scuffing to the black rear panel. The front free endpaper shows scattered foxing/staining. Interior text and plates are otherwise clean and complete.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
