About this copy

This is Volume Two only of the two-volume Everyman's Library edition (No. 862) of Dostoevsky's The Possessed, translated by Constance Garnett with an introduction by J. Middleton Murry. The copyright page states 'First Published in this Edition 1931' with no further printing history visible; the exact printing of this copy cannot be fully confirmed as part of the copyright page text was not clearly legible in photographs. The binding was decorated by Eric Ravilious, as credited on the copyright page, in the standard Everyman's Library red cloth with paper spine and cover labels.

No dust jacket is present.

Condition

Book
Fair – Original red cloth boards showing notable wear including fraying and small cloth loss at the head of the spine, chipping to the paper spine label at head and tail, and bumped corners with some cloth loss exposing board beneath. The text block, title page, and contents are clean and complete. A small pencilled price notation appears on the front free endpaper.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
