About this copy
This is the Readers Union book club edition, produced in 1970 for sale to Readers Union members only. It was originally published by Rapp and Whiting; this copy is the RU reprint, not the first (trade) edition. Hardcover in original dust jacket, jacket design by Terry James.
The jacket carries both the original Rapp & Whiting price (42s) and the Readers Union member price (10s).
Condition
- Book
- Good – sound binding and text block, red cloth boards, ordinary shelf wear consistent with age.
- Dust jacket
- Fair – noticeable surface wear and rubbing to the black background, chipping to spine ends and corners, scattered scuff marks, and a small closed tear/nick to the rear panel near the spine fold.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
