About this copy
This is the first UK edition, published in 1985 by Orbis Publishing. The copyright page states 'First Published in Great Britain by Orbis Publishing Limited, London 1985' with no later printing statements present. The book tells the story of the Australian prisoners of war held at Colditz Castle (Oflag IVC) during the Second World War, drawing on the firsthand experience of co-author Jack Champ, a former Colditz prisoner.
The foreword is contributed by Major Pat Reid, himself a well-known Colditz escaper and author. The book includes a detailed floor plan of Colditz Castle reproduced on the endpapers. Hardcover with original dust jacket, priced £10.00 on the front flap, which appears unclipped.
