About this copy
Cecil Sharp is the great name in English folk dance revival, and this volume brings back to life thirty country dances drawn from The English Dancing Master (1650-1728), the celebrated dance manual that kept English country dancing alive for generations. Sharp's descriptions, notation and notes on style make it an essential reference for dancers, musicians and anyone curious about the traditional English dance. This copy is the Third Edition of 1927, issued in the original paper-covered boards with the Novello device to the rear cover.
The binding is sound and the text is clean and readable, making it a practical and characterful copy for the dance hall or the bookshelf.
