About this copy

This is the first edition, first printing of this account of the British community at Ypres and the young people from its Memorial School who went on to serve in intelligence and resistance work after the German invasion of 1940. Hardcover in the original dust jacket, which is price-clipped only in the sense of showing its original £20 price intact on the rear panel; the jacket itself is heavily toned and discoloured overall, with a small chip at the head of the spine.

Condition

Book
Very Good – boards and text block appear clean and sound with no interior damage noted.
Dust jacket
Fair – heavily toned/stained throughout front, spine and rear panels, with a small chip at the top of the spine and crease lines to the inner flap. Present and unclipped, but condition is well below fine.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
