This is the 1973 reprint of the anthology first published in 1956, issued as No. 35 in Dent's Children's Illustrated Classics (C.I.C.) series. The copyright page states 'First published 1956' and 'Last reprinted 1973'; this is a later reprint rather than a first edition. The anthology draws together nonsense verse from medieval times through to Lewis Carroll, Edward Lear, A. A. Milne and C. S. Lewis.
Bound in the publisher's green cloth boards, in the original pictorial dust jacket priced £2.95 net U.K.
