About this copy

This copy is stated on the title verso to be the Second (Revised) Edition, printed in Hungary by Szikra Printing House, Budapest. No publication year is stated on the pages photographed. This particular copy has been personalised by a previous owner: a number of vintage newspaper and magazine clippings – including a map of Peking, and photographs of Chinese temples, palaces, and landscapes with their original captions – have been pasted onto the front free endpapers and several of the following blank leaves.

These are not part of the original published book but form part of this copy's history. No dust jacket is present.

Condition

Book
Fair – the cloth-and-board binding shows notable surface wear, scuffing, and scattered marks to both boards, with bumped and rubbed corners (some exposed board at the front lower corner). The text block itself appears clean and complete in the photographed pages. A red ribbon page-marker is present and intact. Pencil numbers appear on the front endpaper.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
