About this copy
This is the Greenwich Edition, Michael Joseph's uniform hardcover format for Forester's novels, first issued in 1953. The copyright page shows the full publishing history of this title: first published 1935, with impressions through 1952, followed by the Mermaid Books edition (1952) and this Greenwich Edition (1953). This copy represents the 1953 Greenwich Edition printing, not the 1935 first edition.
Bound in red cloth with a gilt 'CSF' monogram to the front board. No dust jacket is present.
Condition
- Book
- Good – red cloth boards show surface scuffing and light scratches, with a faint stain to the upper front board. Spine lettering is faded and worn. Internally clean and sound.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
