About this copy
This was David Harwood's first full-length book, a collection of fifteen true stories of bravery by Scouts, drawn from the files of the Boy Scouts Association headquarters in London and from Commonwealth Scout organisations. Harwood, a former Queen's Scout, had previously written for The Scout and The Scout Annual under the pen name Henry van Gilder. This copy is hardcover in publisher's cloth with the original dust jacket, priced 15s. net on the front flap, unclipped.
The front free endpaper carries a contemporary ink gift inscription: "James D. Marshall, from Grandad & Aunt Linda."
Condition
- Book
- Good – cloth boards are clean and sound, text block unmarked apart from the noted inscription.
- Dust jacket
- Fair – noticeable rubbing and wear to the spine ends, a small chip at the top corner of the front panel, general toning to the white background, and edge/corner creasing.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
