A charming illustrated souvenir booklet, 'Saqqara', published under the Simpkins Splendor of Egypt imprint, with striking colour photography of the step pyramid of Djoser framed by palms on the cover and an atmospheric view of a tomb interior on the back. Priced at LE 2 on the front cover, it is a lovely piece of Egyptian travel ephemera. Also included: a 'Notre-Dame de Chartres' booklet, Special Number in English, 1984, with a magnificent cover photograph of the cathedral's twin spires against a blue sky.
Condition
- Good. Both booklets are stapled and sound, with bright covers. The Saqqara copy shows light edge and corner wear and minor surface marks; the Chartres copy has a small handwritten mark on the front cover. A pre-owned item; any wear beyond that described is minor and in keeping with its age. A charming pair, ready for its next reader.
