This is the Moxon edition of Cowper's collected poetical works, edited by William Michael Rossetti with illustrations by Thomas Seccombe, including a pictorial engraved title page depicting the ride of John Gilpin. No date or printing statement is visible in this copy, so the specific printing cannot be confirmed from the photographs. The book is bound in full decorative leather with blind-stamped panels to the boards and a gilt-lettered spine label, with marbled endpapers and gilt-ruled board edges (turn-ins).

- Fair – a well-used copy. The leather shows significant rubbing and wear at the corners and board edges, with loss of the dark surface finish revealing lighter leather beneath. The spine leather is heavily worn and faded at the head and tail. The gilt title panel on the front board is dulled. Interior pages show foxing/spotting, particularly to the title leaves. The binding remains sound and the text block intact.
