About this copy
This is the first edition, first printing, published in 1975 to accompany the BBC radio series of the same name. The copyright page states 'First published 1975' with no subsequent reprint notice, consistent with this being the initial printing. The book draws on interviews with around seventy British men and women who lived through the final decades of the Raj, illustrated with 16 pages of black-and-white photographs from private collections.
Hardcover in original dust jacket, jacket design by Cope Design Associates, price of £5.95 net printed on the front flap.
Condition
- Book
- Very Good - boards and text block appear clean and tight in the photographs supplied.
- Dust jacket
- Good - noticeable rubbing and wear to the top edge and corners, with a faint crease to the front panel, but jacket remains intact, unclipped, and price-printed.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
