About this copy
This is a hardcover first edition copy of Quarrie's history of the Waffen-SS, tracing its growth from a small bodyguard unit for Hitler in the 1920s to an army of nearly one million men by 1944. The copyright page states 'First published in 1991' with a standard number line ending in '1', consistent with a first printing, and no later reprint notices appear. Issued in publisher's black boards with a glossy pictorial dust jacket featuring the SS skull-and-crossbones emblem against red lightning bolts (Sig runes).
Condition
- Book
- Very Good – boards are clean and square, text block appears clean and tight on the pages examined.
- Dust jacket
- Good – noticeable surface scuffing and light scratch marks to the glossy front panel, with some general edge and corner wear from handling. No tears noted.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
