About this copy
This is the 1979 edition published by Debrett's Peerage Ltd, described on the rear panel as the first of a projected series of books from Debrett. The copyright page shows no earlier printing history, consistent with this being the original 1979 printing. Text and illustrations are by V H Drummond, with a preface contributed by Lord Alistair Gordon, brother of the Marquess of Aberdeen, and script by Alexandra Culme-Seymour.
The book is bound in pictorial boards printed directly with line-drawing illustrations to the front (a shooting party scene) and rear (a partridge), rather than issued with a separate paper dust jacket.
Condition
- Book
- Very Good – bright, clean boards with sharp illustrations; a small mark to the lower front board, some rubbing to the gilt emblem on the front, and a small tear/crease affecting the printed price area at the base of the rear panel. Text block is clean with only faint toning to a few early leaves.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
