About this copy
This is the first edition of Adkin's history of RAF ground crew, tracing the development of the trade from the Royal Engineer balloon sections of the Boer War era through to the end of the Second World War. The author, a former RAF Airframe Fitter of 22 years' service, draws on personal experience as well as research, and the book is illustrated throughout with period black-and-white photographs. Hardcover in original pictorial dust jacket, which retains its printed price of £11.95 on the front flap.
Condition
- Book
- Good – boards and text block are sound and clean, consistent with careful use; minor foxing noted to the front free endpaper.
- Dust jacket
- Good – general shelf wear with scuffing to the front and rear panels and a small crease/tear at the top edge of the front panel; not price-clipped.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
